Greater Philadelphia Public High Schools Featured on Top 100 List

Forty schools in Greater Philadelphia were among the highest-scoring schools on the most recent Keystone Exams according to a Philadelphia Business Journal analysis of Pennsylvania Department of Education data.

This exam measures high schoolers’ skills in three subjects: biology, algebra and literature. The subject is labeled from advanced, proficient, basic or below basic.

The following Greater Philadelphia schools landed in the top 10 best public schools in Pennsylvania:

  • 10th – Conestoga Senior High School from Chester County
  • 9th – Unionville High School from Chester County
  • 8th – Radnor Senior High School from Delaware County
  • 3rd – Central High School from Philadelphia County
  • 2nd – Julia R. Masterman Middle and High School from Philadelphia County
  • 1st – Downingtown STEM Academy from Chester County

In 2016, 32 out of 50 Pennsylvania’s best public schools were located in Greater Philadelphia. Both lists are a testament to the excellent access to public education in our region.
