PHILADELPHIA (May 25, 2022) – Select Greater Philadelphia (Select), the business attraction and expansion initiative of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, is launching a new website to attract businesses and talent to the region. The revamped resource at www.selectgreaterphl.com is targeted to companies, entrepreneurs, and site selectors looking to locate or expand in the 11-county Greater Philadelphia region and talent seeking employment here. The site provides visitors with resources such as an interactive regional map, and links to property and job search tools. The key message communicated: “Achieve Your Vision Here.”
“The Select Greater Philadelphia website is one of the most important assets that markets the Greater Philadelphia Region to businesses looking to grow. Now, it will also support talent looking to advance their careers. With its fresh, new look and bevy of added features, the website is a powerful tool for the entire business community to help spread the word of the region’s tremendous opportunity for economic growth,” said William Sasso, Chair, Select Greater Philadelphia Advisory Board, and Chair Emeritus, Stradley Ronon.
Four major industries in Greater Philadelphia are spotlighted on the website, including life sciences, financial services, technology, and advanced manufacturing, as well as subsectors within these industries, such as cell and gene therapy in life sciences.
“Select Greater Philadelphia, spurred by annual investors and guided by an advisory board, promotes the region through attraction marketing campaigns and by responding competitively to inbound requests for information, connections, and support,” said Claire Marrazzo Greenwood, Executive Director, and Senior Vice President of Economic Competitiveness for the Chamber. “As we continue to prioritize building a scalable ecosystem that supports growing and retaining companies, innovators, and expertise in the region, this new Select website will be a useful tool for both companies looking to locate or grow here and for talent seeking to make Greater Philadelphia their home.”
A property search tool enables businesses to locate buildings and sites for sale and lease, identifying the type of accommodation they need, whether it is lab or office space or a warehouse or cold storage facility.
A job openings search tool allows talent to search by employer, keyword, or location across two industries, with two more industry segments launching in the coming weeks.
An interactive map shows how the region is connected. A click on each location pin opens up photos and a destination description, providing a big-picture view of the 11-county Greater Philadelphia region.
Among the top out-of-region visitors to the previous version of the website were those from New York, Washington, D.C., Boston, and San Francisco. “We expect strong visitation from those markets and more going forward, including international audiences,” Greenwood said. “Whether a company or talent, we want them to know we can help them achieve their vision in Greater Philadelphia.”
