An initiative launched more than three years ago to boost awareness of the region as a hub for cell and gene therapy is getting ready to unveil its latest effort to promote the fast-growing sector.
Called “Greater Philadelphia: Discovery Starts Here,” the 90-second graphic animation illustrates how more than a dozen companies have spun out of, or are licensing technology from, a handful of local research institutions. It is also available for download here.
Specifically, the video animation features five research institutions (The University of Pennsylvania, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Jefferson Health, Temple University, and The Wistar Institute); 15 cell and gene therapy startups — including Inovio, Cabaletta Bio and Carisma Therapeutics — and the more than 80 investors backing the companies.
The video animation was created by the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia’s CEO Council for Growth with its partners in the Cell & Gene Therapy Initiative.
