Greater Philadelphia is recognized as a top global destination for business, a testament to the region’s combination of key factors that drive business success. 

One of those key factors — Greater Philadelphia’s interconnected and collaborative business culture — was on display at the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia’s (the Chamber’s) Inaugural Business Attraction and Expansion Reception. More than 100 key economic development and business attraction leaders from the 11-county Greater Philadelphia region, which spans southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and northern Delaware, attended the event at Citizens Bank Park on September 5, 2024. 

The event celebrated the Chamber’s past year of business attraction and expansion successes, alongside the region’s economic development leaders and private sector partners who contributed to these wins.

Also in attendance were leaders from four companies that expanded from international markets into Greater Philadelphia in the past year with the support of the Chamber team: InBody BWA, Inc., located in Montgomery County, Preventx, also based in Montgomery County, Re:Dish, situated in Philadelphia, and Ulma Polymer Concrete LLC, operating in Delaware County. 

Record Year 

The Chamber serves as a guide to support business and talent prospects’ expansion or relocation into the region. Part of this work involves making relevant connections to economic development leaders and other key partners to facilitate the moves.

William Sasso, Chair, Select Greater Philadelphia Advisory Board, and Chair Emeritus, Stradley Ronon, an investor in the Chamber, spoke at the event.

Sasso shared that over the past two years, the number of business attraction leads and prospects in the Chamber’s pipeline had quadrupled to nearly 200 this past 2024 fiscal year.

“The cornerstone of this uphill trajectory can be attributed to the region’s collaborative business culture,” he said. “Together, we are not just attracting businesses and helping them expand locally; we are building a thriving, interconnected and inclusive regional economy.”
