In 2022, more company CEOs and entrepreneurs heard the message, “Select Greater Philadelphia,” as the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia increased efforts to identify, engage, and assist organizations looking to locate or expand in the region. Five Organizations Partner to Design New Biotech Training Program to Connect Philadelphians With Quality Jobs in the Region’s Rapidly Growing Life Sciences Sector

Partners in Greater Philadelphia’s life sciences ecosystem are collaborating to create a new workforce development training model to connect biotech jobs with a wider range of Philadelphians, including residents from disadvantaged communities. In a field that often requires PhDs or master’s degrees for most roles, the program – “Biomedical Technician Training Program: Aseptic Manufacturing” – will create opportunities for Philadelphians with at least a high school equivalency. The initiative is one way the region is working together to meet the talent needs in its rapidly growing cell and gene therapy sector.

Philadelphia Region’s Ever-Expanding Cell and Gene Therapy Family Tree Featured in New Promotional Reel

An initiative launched more than three years ago to boost awareness of the region as a hub for cell and gene therapy is getting ready to unveil its latest effort to promote the fast-growing sector.

New Animation Illustrates Greater Philadelphia Region’s Connected Cell and Gene Therapy Startup Ecosystem

PHILADELPHIA (August 16, 2022) – Greater Philadelphia has a new tool to tell the story of collaboration and connectivity in the region’s hub for cell and gene therapy. Titled Greater Philadelphia: Discovery Starts Here,” the 90-second video animation shares a snapshot of several of the region’s world-class research institutions and a number of the cell and gene therapy companies that have licensed technologies or spun out from them.
