Greater Philadelphia’s Health Care Sector Continues to Expand

Bryn Mawr Hospital has opened their $250 million patient pavilion after breaking ground in 2016. This is the largest facility improvement in the hospital’s 125-year history and was funded by Bryn Mawr Hospital’s capital campaign and community support.

The 256,000-square-foot addition contains state-of-the-art operating rooms, LEED design, a green roof, new critical care units, new maternity, labor and delivery rooms and a neonatal intensive care unit. Multiple existing inpatient areas have also undergone renovation.

Each patient room has their own private bathroom, a heart monitor, and three distinct zones for the caregiver, patient, and family for infection control purposes.

The hospital has been able to introduce integrative approaches, such as pet therapy, aromatherapy, therapeutic music, end-of-life care, and more, to care for patients.

The new inpatient spaces will provide the necessary amount of privacy for patients and their families with added comfort.

Other hospitals in our region have undergone renovations to meet the needs of patients and their communities. Jefferson Health broke ground in 2018 on their $205 million expansion project and was ranked one of the best hospitals in the nation.
