Two Philadelphia-based universities are merging into one entity.
Jefferson and Philadelphia Universities signed a binding agreement earlier this month to become one school, which would make the combined university the 5th largest in Philadelphia.
“…Together, we can re-imagine a new kind of education for the jobs of the future,” said Dr. Stephen Klasko, President and CEO of Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health in a Philadelphia Business article. “It’s the start of a revolution in how students are taught, in how we provide greater value in more customized offerings, and in the recognition that design and healthcare are inextricably linked.”
The universities plan to drive innovation in the health, business, science, and engineering fields.
This merged university is one of 104 colleges and universities within the 11-county region that will continue to produce world-class talent.
