JP Morgan Chase is continuing to expand its financial technology department, with plans to hire 1,800 people in the state of Delaware in the near future.
The company acquired AstraZeneca’s former Wilmington headquarters for $44 million; building their Delaware Technology Center at the site. They currently have 360 fintech employees at this location, with plans to invest $200 million into training and expanding their offices further.
“JPMorgan Chase’s investment is one example of how Delaware, with our top quality workforce and fastest broadband speeds in the country, is well-positioned to attract companies in a fast-changing economy that is seeing significant growth in the need for technology-related jobs,” said Governor Jack Markell in a Technical.ly Delaware article.
This hiring boom will continue to grow the Greater Philadelphia region’s burgeoning workforce.
