“Our primary goal is to attract new companies, talent, and jobs to our region by highlighting the assets that make our community the perfect place to establish and grow a business and a career,” said Matt Cabrey, Executive Director of Select Greater Philadelphia Council, and the program’s creator, co-producer and host. “There is no better way to market our region than by telling the amazing stories of growth being developed by companies large and small, old and new, and across all industries.”
The “Growing Greater Philadelphia” program has featured a unique mix of scrappy start-up leaders and well-established professionals, including serial entrepreneur Brian Powell of e-bicycle company Junto Bike Works; Morgan Berman, Founder and CEO of Milkcrate; Karla Troutman, Executive Vice President of Montgomeryville-based ElectroSoft; Co-founders Jason Bamford and Keith Dogget of Wilmington-based GeoSwap; David Gutstadt, founder and CEO of the soon-to-open Fitler Club; Keith DiMarino, President of Gloucester county-based DocuVault; and Co-founders Bethany Edwards and Anna Couturier-Simpson whose new biodegradable and flushable pregnancy test recently received FDA approval.
With more than 110 episodes produced and podcasted, the program began recording January 30 and launched on April 6, 2018. The podcasts, which range in length from seven to 48 minutes, are also produced as a weekly 30-minute radio program broadcast on Philadelphia’s 1210 WPHT, a 50,000 watt station that reaches listeners across the region and in multiple states.
The Growing Greater Philadelphia Podcast and Radio program is an extension of the Emmy Award-winning television program also known as Growing Greater Philadelphia that was created by Select Greater Philadelphia Council in partnership with NBC10. NBC10’s program also brings viewers stories of economic growth and business success from across the Greater Philadelphia community. Six 30-minute episodes have been produced and broadcast and two more are planned for 2019.
“We are excited to launch our second year of this novel podcast program, and to continue partnering with NBC10 on the television program as we work to showcase more business successes, reaching more viewers and listeners regionally, nationally, and globally – all in our efforts to enhance the image and reputation of Greater Philadelphia as one of the best places in the world to live, work, play, create, innovate, partner, get educated, and to raise a family,” Cabrey added.
