Philadelphia Fashion District Opens Doors to Online Brands

A new retailing concept in Fashion District Philadelphia is hoping to attract primarily online brands into a brick-and-mortar space. Fashion District Philadelphia is expected to open in September 2019 and will have shopping, dining and entertainment destinations along 9th & Market Streets.

This exciting concept called BrandBox was developed by Macerich Co., and is also being launched in other cities, such as Chicago and Portland.

Having a physical space has been shown to enhance the customer experience because it provides a place to pick up or return items, generates impulse purchases, and allows retailers to build relationships with their customers.

The spaces range from 500- to 2,500-square-feet with leases available between six to 12 months. Other perks of renting a space from BrandBox are design, build out and programming, data from in-store sales and foot traffic, and social media marketing support.
