Recent Study Finds Philadelphia Traffic Better than Most

Here’s a fact that will make I-95 and Schuylkill Expressway travelers breathe a little sigh of relief: highway commuters in our region spend 15 fewer hours a year in traffic compared with other major metropolitan areas.  Our yearly average of 48 hours is almost half that of D.C.’s, and two thirds of New York City’s.  Philadelphia, the 5th most populated metro area in the U.S., even scored lower than smaller cities such as Denver and Oklahoma City.  Less time spent in traffic also means lower stress levels for commuters and less excess fuel used in the region.
