University of Delaware’s STAR campus Draws 12 Regional Startups

Twelve startups launched their businesses last month at the [email protected], Delaware Technology Park’s new incubator at the University of Delaware’s science and technology campus.

The 10,000 square foot incubator attracted a diverse group of companies, including former DuPont employees, University of Delaware faculty, and entrepreneurs with existing companies that are looking to explore other fields.

“We believe the new space is well positioned to accelerate the growth and success of entrepreneurial companies, providing the dedicated labs to assist with commercializing critical technologies that create jobs to further strengthen our economy,” DEDO Director Bernice Whaley said in a Delaware Online article.

These Greater Philadelphia-based startups and incubators are helping the region gain traction in the world of startup funding; the region rose to sixth in the nation for the number of deals made in 2015.
